I have a couple of Chad’s temple books. In them, he shares accounts of spiritual manifestations and or miracles related to LDS temples. Though I now live in Providence, Utah (Cache Valley), I used to live in California with my wife and six children. In the summer of 1996, we traveled with another family from our ward to Manti to take in the pageant.
The weather was very threatening. Elder Richard G Scott of the Twelve gave the invocation and “commanded” the elements to abate until after the program was finished. For the many thousands there that night, we all witnessed a miracle. The clouds immediately after his prayer opened up directly above the temple grounds and no wind or rain impacted the temple grounds, though the stirm raged around the grounds throughout the show. Then, just as miraculously, after the benediction was given, within one minute the storm descended onto the temple grounds drenching all the spectators in rain and blowing over the chairs. I have since ran into others that were there that might and they confirm what my family and our neighbors saw and experienced . . . That an Apostle of the Lird Jesus Christ commanded the elements and they DID obey!
